Staging, truss, and rigging are fundamental components of almost any event that involves a performance, presentation, or significant visual/audio setup. They provide the structural backbone for everything from sound systems and lighting rigs to video screens, backdrops, and even performers themselves.
Staging: The raised platform or area where the primary action of your event takes place. It provides visibility for the audience and a defined space for performers, speakers, or displays.
Truss: A pre-engineered, modular framework typically made of aluminium tubing, used to create stable structures for hanging lighting, sound systems, video screens, banners, and scenery. It's designed for strength, portability, and ease of assembly.
Rigging: The process and equipment used to safely suspend objects (truss, lighting, speakers, scenery, video screens, etc.) from a support structure, typically the ceiling or dedicated rigging points within a venue. It's a highly specialized and safety-critical discipline.
